Providing help and hope

In times of crisis

Emergency Housing for Decatur's Women and Children

Picture
The Careage House was established by God's Shelter of Love to provide emergency housing to women and children. This homeless shelter, a 16-bed emergency overnight shelter for women and children, operates from 8pm-7am, (May 1st-August 30th) & 5pm-7am (September 1st-April 30th).

We provide a safe peaceful place to stay, a hot shower, a chance to get clothes washed, and caring hostesses who are available to talk, pray or just be there during a rough time in their lives.

We also offer a bedroom downstairs that can be reserved for women with children so they can maintain privacy.

An evening meal is provided through individuals, churches, and other community organizations from October 1st-April 30th. Also, one night a week members of the Macon County Chat team come in and try to make sure everyone is getting whatever resources they need and are entitled to.

Do you know a woman or child in need of emergency shelter?
